Day 1: Trekkers Lodge to Sine Camp (2,596m)

The steady climb leads you through towering trees filled with life—blue monkeys, Colobus monkeys in large groups, and even the culturally symbolic L’Hoest monkeys may be spotted. You’ll also encounter a spectacular array of forest flora, moss-covered vines, bamboo groves, and colorful fungi. As you approach Sine Camp, a short walk to Enock’s Falls offers a picture-perfect moment of cascading water amid vibrant greenery.
Sine Camp, perched on a forested ridge, offers warm wooden huts, campfire chats with local guides, and close proximity to birdlife and waterfalls. If you’re particularly fit, you may opt to continue to Kalalama Camp at 3,134m, giving you more time to acclimatize for higher altitudes later.


Day 2: Sine Camp to Mutinda Camp via Kalalama (3,975m Lookout Optional)
After breakfast, ascend into the steep Bamboo-Mimulopsis zone with its slippery steps and rich forest ambiance. Reach Kalalama Camp (3,147m) in the Heather-Rapanea zone for a well-deserved tea break, then continue across valleys and small waterfalls as you pass through a stunning trail of moss-covered rocks, giant heather trees, and vibrant lobelia plants.
The trail leads into a mystical high-altitude valley toward Mutinda Camp, nestled beside a river and small waterfall. Here, you can rest or choose to ascend Mutinda Lookout at 3,975m. Day 3: Mutinda Camp to Kiharo Camp via Hunwick’s Pass (3,500m)
Today’s hike begins with a climb over rocky streambeds and peat bogs, including scenic boardwalks that lead to the top of a striking waterfall. You’ll pass through Hunwick’s Pass, framed by towering rock faces of the Twin Peaks, where you might spot red duikers, hyrax, or eagles soaring above.
The trail then leads across a lobelia-dotted bog and through thickets of giant heather, finally arriving at the serene Kiharo Camp. A short walk from camp reveals the impressive Kiharo Falls, cascading through mossy boulders—a perfect spot to relax and reflect on the journey so far.


Day 4: Kiharo Camp to Forest View Camp (2,580m) and Exit
Descend into the awe-inspiring Nyamwamba Valley, a hidden gem of waterfalls, mossy cliffs, and deep forest canopies. The trail here is dotted with switchbacks and lookout points for waterfalls such as Cathy’s, Nyamwamba (52m high), Ajarova, and the breathtaking Plozza Falls—named after the founder’s ancestors. As you descend through duiker territory and into the thicker forest alive with birds and primates, you arrive at Forest View Camp.
